| Description: How do you know what a graph is telling you? How do you know if it's lying? And how should you present your own data when you need to make a compelling case? Charts and diagrams of all types are used to communicate, but they can either confuse or clarify -- accidentally or by design. In this first-year seminar, we'll discuss the basic principles of data visualizations to understand how people communicate about numbers. |
