Course Title: Advanced Topics in Politics: 'Feminism Remains Foreign: What We Need for a New World Order'
Start Date: 09/09/2026 End Date: 12/22/2026
Term: Fall Semester 2026
Description: This seminar explores the ways in which feminist theory and practice has sought to influence domestic and foreign policies over time and interrogates the potential of feminism to move us toward a more just and equitable global society. We will analyze dominant frameworks in international affairs and global developmen, different forms of feminism, and how feminists have sought to adjust to or dismantle existing paradigms. We will look closely at how some states are implementing a feminist foreign policy even as the core values of feminism are being eroded globally. To what extent have feminist movements shifted norms and practies within societies and across the international order.
