Course Title: Topics in Art Studio: 'Planting a Practice: Creating the Series'
Start Date: 09/09/2026 End Date: 12/22/2026
Term: Fall Semester 2026
Description: Creating the Series is a rigorous course that expands studio skills students have gathered prior to this semester. Students will strengthen and develop their own practice. The semester includes presentations, exhibitions, research, critiques, and discussions. Throughout history, artists have actively approached the iterative strategy of creating a series in order to transform, distill, unpack, and otherwise evolve an original idea. Students will do the same through creating multiple series of works that respond to initial prompts and research.
