Course Title: Introductory Biology: 'Exploring Biodiversity with Laboratory'
Start Date: 01/27/2026 End Date: 05/12/2026
Term: Spring Semester 2026
Description: In this course, we will take a leap back in time to the origins of life, discuss the evolution of major organismal lineages, and investigate biological processes at different scales, from cellular to ecological. Through the lectures, labs, and in-class discussions, students will make connections between fundamental biological concepts and biodiversity, and will become familiar with how scientific knowledge is generated. In lab, students will explore biological diversity, cellular dynamics, and evolutionary and ecological processes, with a focus on gaining skills in scientific inquiry, including hypothesis development, experimental design, collecting and analyzing results, and scientific writing.
