Instructor's comments about the book list: Please read carefully: multiple textbook options available! Our main course text will be the ~FREE~ and open-source online elementary Russian textbook Mezhdu nami (mezhdunami.org). The online textbook is accompanied by a physical/digital workbook and homework packet. Students ~CAN~ purchase the in-class workbook (https://www.kubookstore.com/Homework-Activities-For-Mezhdu-Nami-Units -1-5-P_2?quantity=1&custcol_nsts_csic_web_product_type=11) and homework packet (https://www.kubookstore.com/Homework-Activities-For-Mezhdu-Nami-Units -1-5-P_3?quantity=1&custcol_nsts_csic_web_product_type=11) directly through the publisher, the University of Kansas. Please e-mail dbrooks@mtholyoke.edu if you have trouble with the links above. HOWEVER, the textbook authors also make the workbook and homework packet available as ~FREE~ PDFs on the textbook website (https://mezhdunami.org/instructors/workbooks.shtml). If you prefer to work with digital copies of the workbook and homework packet, please know that using a stylus-enabled laptop or tablet is strongly recommended. It is also permissible to print out the dedicated PDFs that I will have uploaded for each class session on our Course Moodle site. Regardless of the format that you choose (physical or digital), I promise to help you get the most out of the course content, and make it as convenient as possible to submit your assignments to me in whatever manner you prefer. Please also note that the RES 101 language lab times have not yet been established. Sign up for whatever the enrollment system lets you, and we will survey all the RES 101 students near the end of the enrollment period and find times that are convenient for both you and the instructor.   |
