Course Title: Conference Course: 'Substance Use Disorder: Addiction and Drug Memory Formation with Laboratory'
Start Date: 01/23/2024 End Date: 05/07/2024
Term: Spring Semester 2024
Description: In this course, we will review the contribution of memory processes to substance use disorder. We will review primary research literature and case studies that explore the neuronal plasticity that underlie drug addiction and long-term memory formation. After reviewing the scientific literature, we will examine the overlap between memory and addiction-related behaviors of rodents. This course will enable students to relate changes in neuronal structure and function to drug-associated behavioral changes.
