Description: This course is a contemporary exploration of the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of the African-rooted community dance circle. Through movement, literary, and media-based explorations, students will examine the history of the circle and investigate dance improvisation as a practice of deep listening, researching the potential of the circle to engage people across many cultures, races, and backgrounds.
