Instructor's comments about the book list: If you are trying to prioritize your purchases: Histoire de France is available as a PDF on our Moodle site - we will be reading this and you will have questions to answer in a reading guide. I have selected fairly inexpensive editions of Candide and Ourika, but if you find another edition for these, or for the Baudelaire, which is cheaper, that is absolutely fine. Ourika : the original French text / Claire de Duras ; edited by Joan DeJean ; introduction by Joan DeJean and Margaret Waller (Modern Language Association of America, 1994) Le Spleen de Paris is available as an ebook through the library: https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/mtholyoke/detail.action?docID=20 86954
