This is the complete book list for this class.
Instructor's comments about the book list: You do not need to purchase any books for this course. Rampolla, A Pocket Guide to Writing in History, is recommended as a guide to assist you with your research and writing. It will be available on reserve. We may also have a copy that can be shared around. For those who wish to purchase the book, the 10th edition, which is the most recent, may be more affordable than some older editions. I have listed the ebook price here ($23.99). The 10th edition in paperback is $38.99, and the 9th edition is even more expensive. Feel free to use an earlier edition. I also recommend Wayne Booth, et al., The Craft of Research, 4th ed. (2016), which is not specifically focused on history writing, but is nonetheless a very helpful guide. If you wish to purchase The Craft of Research, please note that it will be helpful to have the 4th edition, specifically. In any case, if you are uncertain about either potential purchase, feel free to wait until we meet before you buy anything.
