Course Title: Topics in Art Studio: 'Post-Studio Sculpture'
Start Date: 10/21/2020 End Date: 12/14/2020
Term: Fall Semester 2020
Description: Since the 1970s, artists have been exploring ways to leave their studios in order to engage in the act of making art directly in the world. Through research, readings, discussions, writing assignments, and creative projects this course will investigate the artists and artworks that have moved beyond traditional studio practice to interrupt, intervene, and engage with site, community, and environment. Students will work with a wide range of everyday materials to generate projects that address issues particular to contemporary sculpture while solving a set of conceptual problems.
