Course Title: Topics in Art Studio: 'Climate Justice & the Environment: Print/Digital Hybrid'

Description: This course introduces students to climate and environmental justice, with an emphasis on how to use visual storytelling to explore and critique that history. Through a series of projects rooted in the environment, students will explore how to integrate digital processes with traditional printmaking techniques. The basics of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and stop-motion animation will be covered. Students will use equipment such as laser cutters and plotters to learn how to turn digital files into physical matrices for printing. The final art form will be hand-printed work, utilizing relief printing, engraving, collagraphs, and monoprinting.
